How Lifeplus energised their Sales Associates with a live virtual event (in the middle of lockdown)



Lifeplus is one of the biggest and most successful referral marketing companies in the world, supplying high quality nutritional and wellbeing products. With a vision to help everyone around the world live well. The business provides individuals (Associates) with opportunities to make money from working at home.

Lifeplus are very good at rewarding and celebrating the achievements of Sales Associates. It’s their way of saying thank you for the continuous commitment and hard work. Recognition Galas are incredibly motivating and events where fellow Associates come together to share best practice. So how to host an event of such importance in the middle of the global lockdown?


  • Having resigned themselves to the likely cancellation of a flagship Recognition Gala in for German based Associates with less than a month to go, the UK based Lifeplus Marketing and Events team approached Somersault to explore opportunities for the event to go ahead.
  • Somersault worked closely with the Client team to understand the format and expectations of the event. Our team engaged with numerous stakeholders from the UK and Germany to review logistics and plans for how the physical version of the event typically runs. Think dress to impress, glamorous ballroom with stage, roundtable, drinks reception, three course meal followed by a live band and dancing into the early hours and you get an idea of the brief.
  • Within days, rather than Lifeplus’ UK CEO hosting a makeshift video call from home with intermittent wi-fi and the chance of children joining the presentation, Somersault’s Cambridge based Safe Shoot Studio was repurposed to host and live stream the event to Associates across Europe.


  • Somersault created and edited Client supplied content to be presented during the event, making it on brand as if it was being presented in a physical setting
  • Lifeplus’ CEO enjoyed a full on site rehearsal in the days leading up to the Virtual Experience
  • All recording and live streaming technology was tested in advance, providing the Client team with much needed reassurance
  • To the delight of the Client team, CEO presenter and watching Associates the four hour event exceeded all Lifeplus expectations, from the opening credits and accompanying presentations to the ‘virtual meal’ and dancing into the early hours
  • Set the blueprint for future Virtual Experience Events for the foreseeable future
